Hi!! My name is Christopher, I recently graduated with my Master’s in Counseling, and like most new therapists, I left school feeling prepared to help people but totally unprepared to actually get clients.
No one taught us how to build a private practice. I kept wondering, why isn’t this part of the curriculum?
I started out just like most therapists: working full-time, juggling supervision, barely scraping by, and wondering why no one ever taught us how to actually get clients. I had a website no one visited, Psychology Today listings that went nowhere, and zero idea how to market myself without feeling gross or salesy. I felt like I was posting to social media without any traction.
